David Mamet's "Redbelt" (debuts Friday) stars London-born Chiwetel Ejiofor (pronounced "chew-it-tell edge-oh-for") as a tough-minded and hard-bodied jiujitsu black belt caught up in mind games and treachery. He's one of Hollywood's best rising actors. Among other Ejiofor films:

1 "American Gangster" (2007) — He's paired with Denzel Washington in a crime family matching wits with cop Russell Crowe.

"2 Talk to Me" (2007) — In the real-life story of a radio manager and outsized on-air talent, Ejiofor stands toe-to-toe with the great Don Cheadle.

3 "Children of Men" (2006) — Clive Owen benefits from Ejiofor's support in this heady drama about the fragility of mankind.

4 "Inside Man" (2006) — Again he's paired with Denzel Washington, this time both being on the side of the law, and in pursuit of wannabe bank robber Clive Owen.

5 "Four Brothers" (2005) — Ejiofor is big, bad gangster Victor Sweet to Mark Wahlberg's hot-headed revenge seeker.

6 "Dirty Pretty Things" (2002) — The actor's breakthrough role with Audrey Tautou in a drama about dastardly crimes at a London hotel.
