"Mother's Day," with Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts, Britt Robertson, Timothy Olyphant, Jason Sudeikis and others, filmed in Atlanta's Historic Fourth Ward Park last week. It was a great day for filming, but the production temporarily closed portions of the park. To show what nice neighbors they are, the production folks decided to spring for a face painter and bought King of Pops frozen treats for kids and families who were temporarily inconvenienced.
The movie, about the stories of different moms that intersect on the holiday, likely will be released with some other title to avoid colliding with “Mothers Day,” filming elsewhere right now.
That one, starring Christina Ricci, Sharon Stone, Roselyn Sanchez and Susan Sarandon, features "interwoven stories of what it is to be a mom seen through the lens of photographer Rigby Gray," per imdb. "Mothers Day" also stars Aniston's former "Friends" co-star Courteney Cox. Both projects have a spring 2016 due date.
Marshall indicated his will be the one to switch names, telling The Hollywood Reporter: “Ours likely won’t be called ‘Mother’s Day’ but I don’t know what the title will end up being.”
Fundraiser benefits Georgia’s foster youths
“Party on Purpose,” planned for 7-11 p.m. Nov. 7 at the City Club of Buckhead, will support Camp Horizon’s summer camp, weekend retreats, social outings and other programs serving children and youths in foster care.
Since 1982, the nonprofit has partnered with the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services and other providers to serve children in elementary school through early adulthood. According to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), in the state of Georgia, each day more than 30 children are victims of confirmed abuse or neglect, and 200 incidents of suspected child abuse or neglect are reported daily.
“Enrichment programs, supportive outlets and opportunities to build meaningful relationships with mentors are incredibly important to affected children,” said Jennifer Halloran, executive director of Camp Horizon. “We foster long-term, life-changing alliances that lead to better outcomes and brighter futures.”
Tickets to "Party on Purpose" are $75 each and available online at horizon2015.auction-bid.org. For more information about Camp Horizon, see www.camphorizon.net, call 770-462-4908 or email info@camphorizon.net.
