Kid Rock is dropping his political ambitions – which were a publicity stunt he admitted to Howard Stern on Tuesday – to return to being a rock star.

His “Greatest Show on Earth” tour launches Jan. 19 in Nashville and he’ll play 21 shows around the U.S.

Kid Rock will also release “Sweet Southern Sugar” on Nov. 3, his first album recorded in Nashville and his first album since 2015.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Nov. 3 via www.axs.com and www.livenation.com. Members of Kid Rock's fan club can purchase tickets starting at 10 a.m. Oct. 31 and fans who pre-order the album at www.kidrock.com will be eligible for a pre-sale beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 1. Ticket prices are TBA.

A  Michigan Senate poll in August showed Kid Rock leading the field of Republican contenders, but trailing Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
