It looks to be a busy summer for the Atlanta filming industry as projects including “Insurgent,” “Triple Nine,” “The Duff” and more continue apace.

"Insurgent," starring Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Theo James, Miles Teller and Kate Winslet, is done filming at Serenbe, south of Atlanta, and is now downtown. "Insurgent," also starring Jai Courtney, Naomi Watts, Zoë Kravitz, Maggie Q, Ray Stevenson, Suki Waterhouse, Octavia Spencer, Daniel Dae Kim and Jonny Weston, is the second in the teen sci-fi "Divergent" series.

Cop thriller "Triple Nine," with Gal Gadot, Aaron Paul, Clifton Collins Jr., Kate Winslet, Teresa Palmer, Norman Reedus, Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Peña and others, has been downtown as well.

Ejiofor, Collins and Mackie dined at STK in Midtown on Saturday. They were celebrating an early birthday for Collins and enjoyed fresh oysters, beef tartare and steaks. Teen movie "The Duff" filmed at Perimeter Mall before heading to Grady High School, and star Bella Thorne and other members of the cast cheered on the Braves Sunday night.

The movie is about a girl who learns she’s serving as the D.U.F.F. or “Designated Ugly Fat Friend” for a more glamorous pal. So she learns to accept herself and concentrates on academics instead of fretting over her image so much. Ha! Just kidding! She “enlists the help of her neighbor to give her a social makeover so she can woo the guy of her dreams,” says the movie site imdb.com. That’s more like it.

Thorne also appears in the recently released Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore movie "Blended," which filmed partly in metro Atlanta. She, along with fellow "Duff" cast members Mae Whitman, Robbie Amell, Bianca Santos, Nick Eversman and Skyler Samuels, showed up at Turner Field on Sunday, where a long line of young fans turned up to take selfies.

In other news, the Oprah Winfrey-produced movie "Selma" completed numerous stints in various metro Atlanta locations before heading next door to the actual town of Selma.
