MARIETTA

Banks and Shane at The Earl Smith Strand Theatre

Longtime Atlanta party band Banks and Shane condenses itself into a three piece for its Kingston Trio tribute. Vocalist and guitarist Jim Durand joins Banks Burgess and Paul Shane as the group plays a laundry list of Kingston Trio hits from “M.T.A.” to “Tom Dooley.” Folkie parents can expose their kids to the genre at this all ages show. Proceeds benefit the Stewart-Collins Memorial Scholarship Fund at Furman University.

8 p.m. Aug. 28. $27-$33. Earl Smith Strand Theatre, 117 N. Park Square, Marietta. 770-293-0080, www.earlsmithstrand.org.

DULUTH

Duluth Music Festival at Duluth Festival Center and Amphitheater

Georgia musicians lead the charge representing a variety of genres. Acts include Katelyn Pope performing country, the Green Flag Band dishing out Celtic folk, the hip-hop and pop of Valentine and West, and jazz from Gary Harris and friends. Get in on the act at the open mike stage. Kids can let loose in a play area. And vendors shill food and drinks. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.

2-10 p.m. Aug. 28. Duluth Festival Center and Amphitheater, 3142 Hill St., Duluth. 770-476-3434, www.duluthga.net.

PEACHTREE CITY

Slippery When Wet at Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater

You don’t have to close your eyes to imagine you’re really at a Bon Jovi concert. Sure, this tribute band performs authentic versions of Bon Jovi anthems including “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Runaway” and “Wanted Dead or Alive.” But frontman Jason Morey is a dead ringer for the real deal. He even has a Superman symbol tattooed on his left arm just like Jon Bon Jovi. The group returns home fresh off of a stint at Epcot Center at Walt Disney World in Florida. The Dirty Roots Band opens.

8 p.m. Aug. 28. $10 (sold out), $15; $150-$180 for tables for six. Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater, 201 McIntosh Trail, Peachtree City. 770-631-0630, www.amphitheater.org.
