A Night at the Derby at Hudgens Center for the Arts
The annual horse race to end all horse races, the Kentucky Derby, serves as the theme of this fundraiser for the Junior League of Gwinnett and North Fulton Counties. Guests show off their over-the-top lids in a Wacky Derby Hat Contest. Others pick their favorite horses in each of four races to see who goes home with a prize-packed gift basket. The mystery wine portion of the evening invites guests to donate money and receive a bottle of wine worth twice the amount of the donation. The ticket price includes all of these activities plus dinner, drinks, live music and access to live and silent auctions.
7 p.m. May 6. $77.25. Hudgens Center for the Arts, 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 300, Duluth. 770-623-6002, http://jlgnf.org.
