3 fun things: Classic racing at Road Atlanta

The Classic Motorsports Mitty at Road Atlanta

Since it started its engine in 1978, this classic car event has become one of the biggest of its kind on the East Coast. It’s an indulgence of historically significant race cars, which will be on display and circling the Road Atlanta track. Car hounds can get up close and personal with the cars that have graced winner’s circles throughout the years. You might catch a glimpse of rides including a MSA Camel GT, a SCCA Trans-Am and NASCAR Winston Cup cars. Mazda is this year’s feature model and famed Mazda racer Jim Downing serves as grand marshal. The second round of the 2011 Classic Motorsports Small Bore Cup, a race featuring small-bore cars produced before 1965, takes place, too.
