Sandy Salzinger at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church

Have a soft spot for chamber music? Sandy Salzinger, a violinist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, teams with pianist Ann Rollins to perform an evening filled with just that. Expect to hear violin and piano sonatas by Beethoven and Schumann. Cellist Brad Ritchie will sit in on “Brahms Piano Trio No. 1.” Salzinger, who was chosen by former ASO music director and conductor Robert Shaw, has been performing in the symphony since 1985.

Hillsong United at the Arena At Gwinnett Center

This popular contemporary Australian praise and worship band displays its spirituality with the electric power of rock ‘n’ roll. The group, which sprang out of Hillsong Church in Australia, is currently touring to promote its 12th full-length album and second studio recording entitled “Aftermath.” But the band, fronted by musicians Joel Houston, Jad Gillies and J.D., is best known for its energetic live shows complete with arena rock pageantry and multimedia.

“Dearly Departed” at Norcross Cultural Arts Center

Lionheart Theatre Company takes David Bottrell's and Jessie Jones’ play “Dearly Departed” and drops it in the deep fryer. After patriarch Bud Turpin drops dead at the breakfast table, his dysfunctional brood shows its true troubled colors beaming brightly from their red necks. From the corn dogs and Budweiser served at the funeral to the play’s motley crew of backwater misfits, “Dearly Departed” revels in the stereotypes found south of the Mason-Dixon.
