As the 12th Atlanta Jewish Film Festival heads into its final leg, here's a quick look at noteworthy screenings for which tickets were still on sale at press time (AJFF showings often sell out in advance; check availability at www.ajff.org.):

  • "Nicky's Family," a documentary that recounts the heroism of Sir Nicholas Winton, the "British Schindler" who orchestrated a series of rail-sea transports to save the lives of 669 Czech and Slovak children during World War II. The film combines newsreels and archival photos with dramatic re-enactments narrated by rescued children and Winton himself. It also recounts humanitarian achievements he inspired. 11:50 a.m. Feb. 24, Georgia Theatre Company Merchants Walk.
  • Shorts Program 3: Five shorts including "Ben-Gurion Hosting," an animated biography of Israel's first prime minister from the creators of Oscar-nominee "Waltz with Bashir." Based on David Ben-Gurion's writings, it is voiced by Israeli actor Tuvia Tzafir. And "Not Your Time: A Musical," a failed screenwriter threatens suicide in this darkly comic musical featuring Jason Alexander and Hollywood directors and producers playing themselves in cameos. The Boston International Film Festival's best short film winner. 12:15 p.m. Feb. 24, United Artists Tara Cinemas 4; and 11 a.m. Feb. 26, Georgia Theatre Company Merchants Walk.
  • "This Is Sodom," a biblical farce set in the last days of Sodom in which the comedy troupe Eretz Nehederet gleefully skewers religious figures, reality TV, game shows, musicals, celebrities, contemporary Israeli culture and more. 2:20 p.m. Feb. 24, United Artists Tara Cinemas 4
  • "Free Men," a wartime espionage drama telling the story of Muslim freedom fighters in the French Resistance and a Paris mosque that sheltered Jews during World War II. 2:40 p.m. Feb. 24, Georgia Theatre Company Merchants Walk.
  • "The Apple Pushers," a documentary, narrated by Edward Norton, about recent American immigrants working in the Green Cart movement, bringing healthy foods to low-income New York neighborhoods. 11 a.m. Feb. 26, United Artists Tara Cinemas 4.

  • "My Dad Baryshnikov," a comedy about a ballet-obsessed 14-year-old who dreams of performing at the Bolshoi Theatre amid the social upheaval of Perestroika. 3:55 p.m. Feb. 26, Georgia Theatre Company Merchants Walk.
