Braves fans can trade last night’s tickets for future game

Severe Weather Team 2 is tracking Alberto.

The Atlanta Braves eventually played ball Monday night after a lengthy rain delay, but are offering fans who didn’t attend the opportunity to trade in unused tickets for a future date. Jason Isbell’s post-game concert planned for Monday night will be rescheduled.

The second of two match-ups against the New York Mets started about three hours after the scheduled time of 7:10 p.m., and the game didn’t end until early Tuesday morning. The evening game was itself a makeup from a previously rained-out event, giving the team a powerful incentive to get it in despite the late hour.

Still, fans who missed out (possibly for the second time) have another chance to get their chop on.

“We recognize that many ticket holders for tonight’s game were also ticket holders for the original game that was rained out on April 22. Ticket must be redeemed by September 20th at the SunTrust Park ticket window starting (Tuesday) at 10 a.m.,” the team posted via Twitter. “Due to this unusual inconvenience, we’re offering fans still holding a ticket for (Monday night’s) game the opportunity to redeem for a complimentary ticket in the home run porch or grandstand level for any Sunday-Thursday home game.

In addition, Isbell will perform at a date to be determined.

“Due to the late start time of tonight’s game, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and the Braves think it’s best if we postpone the show to a date where we don’t have to inconvenience fans and start the concert so late,” the team posted. “All fans that had a field pass for tonight’s postgame concert will be automatically refunded and will be contacted via email tomorrow. These fans will also be given the first opportunity to purchase field passes to the rescheduled show. We will communicate the rescheduled date as soon as it’s confirmed! We thank Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit for all that they have done to accommodate the fans with this challenging weather!”

After prevailing 4-3 in the first round, the Braves lost to the Mets, 8-5, in the second contest. Here's what players and coaching staff had to say.

Subtropical Storm Alberto, now downgraded to a depression, soaked SunTrust Field at times on Monday, forcing a rain delay in the afternoon game.
