Scattered thundershowers and sultry temperatures mean summer is here.

PETER PAN AT SERENBE PLAYHOUSE

The famous flying boy arrives Thursday at Georgia’s own Neverland, Serenbe, down in Palmetto, and remains through August 26.

This new theatrical version of the Peter Pan story is by Roger Q. Mason, and is enjoying its world premiere.

Serenbe performances are outdoors, rain or shine; this one is in an area of Serenbe called the Mado Hideaway.

COCKTAILS IN THE GARDEN AT THE ATLANTA BOTANICAL GARDEN

Explore a different corner of the garden each week, enjoy a libation, hear live music, and play games at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Normal admission gets you to a cash bar and the wonders of the humongous plant sculptures in the new exhibit “Imaginary Worlds.”

ATLANTA FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL

This yearly four-day indulgence kicks off Thursday evening with a party at  American Spirit Works, featuring bites curated from Virginia’s Jason Alley of Comfort and Mississippi’s Vishwesh Bhatt of Snackbar, and drinks from from Charleston’s Ann Marshall at Highwire Distilling Co.
