UPS has received an additional extension for its offer to buy Netherlands-based TNT Express.

The $6.77 billion purchase was originally due to close this year, but has been pushed to 2013 due to an extended review by the European Commission.

UPS’ offer period was extended until one week after the Sandy Springs logistics company receives clearances from the European Commission, but no later than Feb. 28.

The current offer period ends Nov. 9.
