UPS has expanded it relationship with Merck overseas.

The Sandy Springs company already manages the distribution, warehousing and transportation of Merck's medicines and vaccines in North America. Tuesday, the companies announced it will provide the same services in some parts of Asia and Latin America, including China and Brazil, and will provide Merck's transportation services in Europe.

In January, UPS announced that it was expanding its dedicated health care facilities to 30. Then, an analyst said it was an indication the company was moving away from moving packages as it added logistics and supply chain management services.

The companies said Merck expects to save money through the deal, but will keep distribution agreements with other logistics and delivery providers. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
