The Technology Association of Georgia announced winners of its 2013 TAG Excalibur Awards on Friday.

The awards, given in five categories, recognize companies that demonstrate the best use of technology to solve complex issues and processes that impact their operations. The technology can either be developed in-house or provided by a third party.

The recipients and categories were Kennesaw State University for public/non-profit; AchieveIT for small companies; Mercedes-Benz Buckhead for mid-sized companies; UPS for large companies; and National Monuments Foundation for most creative solution.

TAG estimates more than 263,000 people are employed in Georgia’s tech industry, representing more than 20 percent of the new jobs created over the past two years.

Friday’s event was held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta.
