A contemporary metro Atlanta mansion owned by Grammy-nominated Senegalese-American singer and rapper Akon is on the market for a cool $2.6M.

Also a record producer and actor, the 43-year old whose full name is Aliaume Damala Badara Akon Thiam wrote and recorded his "Troubled" debut album in 2004 after a prison stint.

He's been much beloved since, awash in platinum releases and successful soundtracks and acting roles. This home is a far cry from his earlier days: a 14,994-square-foot mansion at 320 Wilderlake Ct in the prestigious Wildercliff community in Sandy Springs, Ga.

It has belonged to Akon since 2007, purchased for $2.685M, and is fitting for a wildly sucessful entertainer. The home is listed by Betsy Akers of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty and the listing plainly states that the property is "currently in need of repair so bring your builders or investors." To that we'd add: "and plenty of income." Zillow says the mansion costs $173 per square foot and estimates the monthly mortgage at $11,355.
