Rebecca "Becky" Blalock will speak about leadership and her book, "Dogs Don't Chase Parked Cars." The event will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Piedmont Hospital's Rich Auditorium (1968 Peachtree Road N.W. in Atlanta). Dinner begins at 5 p.m. Continuing education credits (1.5) and CPHQ credits have been applied for through the National Association for Healthcare Quality. The cost, which includes the presentation and a light dinner, is $10 for for Georgia Association for Healthcare Quality members and $35 for nonmembers. "Accelerating the Rate of Improvement… and Making it Stick" will be presented by Sandra Murray at Piedmont Hospital's McRae Auditorium from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The one-day workshop will teach participants how to use data to accelerate improvement in their health care organizations. The Emory diabetes educator certificate course at Grady will be held at the Emory Faculty Office Building (49 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive in Atlanta). This seminar is open to nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers and others interested in the management and education of people with diabetes. Professionals preparing to take the certified diabetes educator exam should find the course helpful. Attendees must have a degree or diploma in a health profession. The course is also open to students preparing to take a licensure examination. The cost, which includes materials, is $375.
