Although Hartsfield-Jackson International does not offer official electric vehicle charging stations at airport-run parking lots, several private off-site airport parking lots have added electric vehicle charging to their services.

Peachy Airport Parking has 60 spots with outlets for electric vehicle charging in its indoor parking facility and is adding another ten. The spaces are available to those who pay for indoor parking, which costs $13 per day, with discounts for online reservations and rewards members. Peachy also plans to add a fast charger for electric vehicles.

Park ‘N Ticket has also added spaces with electric vehicle charging ports, including dedicated spots on the top of its parking deck and other outlets in its covered parking section. Other off-site airport lots that offer electric vehicle charging outlets include PreFlight and Park ‘N Fly Plus.

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed has set goals for sustainability, but the airport has run into challenges during its years of efforts on environmental initiatives. Hartsfield-Jackson had planned to put in 18 electric vehicle charging stations in 2013 — but the electric charging station maker the airport had struck a deal with ran into financial problems and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
