The Coca-Cola Foundation isn’t alone in its efforts to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. The PepsiCo Foundation, which is based in Purchase, N.Y., said it also is stepping up.
The company is giving $500,000 to the American Red Cross’ disaster giving program, which will provide such support as water, food and shelter in heavily impacted areas along the East Coast. The beverage giant also is donating $250,000 to Feeding America’s disaster relief fund, which will help stock local food banks.
Gina Anderson, a Pepsi spokeswoman, said local teams also are making product donations.
The Coca-Cola Foundation said Wednesday it pledged $1 million to local community relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane-turned-Superstorm Sandy.
