The number of foods affected by a recent peanut-related salmonella outbreak is growing and now includes hundreds of byproducts.

The list of contaminated foods is now 10 pages long and contains more than 400 peanut products, including moon pies, ice cream and peanut butter; raw and roasted peanuts. The CDC has traced the outbreak to a Sunland Inc. factory in Portales, N.M.

Dozens of people, including many children, have gotten sick from the products in 19 states.

In late September, Sunland voluntarily recalled its peanut butter and almond butter, cashew butter, tahini and other products after one its products — Trader Joe’s Valencia Creamy Salted Peanut Butter made with Sea Salt — was linked to the salmonella outbreak.

Products involved in the recall have also been pulled from shelves at Target, Publix, Kroger and Whole Foods stores in metro Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News confirmed.

Sunland asks consumers with recalled products to dispose of them or return them to the grocery store for a full refund. Sunland has closed its production facilities during this investigation.

For more information about this recall, call Sunland at 1-866-837-1018.

CDC also recommends that consumers do not eat the recalled peanut butter or other recalled products containing nuts and seeds. "This is especially important for children under the age of 5 years, older adults, and people with weak immune systems," according to the CDC website.
