Motorola Solutions denied a published report Friday that said the Fortune 500 company is considering metro Atlanta as a site for a possible headquarters relocation.

Tama McWhinney, a spokeswoman for the Schaumburg, Ill.-based communications equipment company, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution “we remain committed to our current location and the greater Chicago area.”

“No major facilities are being considered in the metro Atlanta area,” she said.

Atlanta Business Chronicle, citing unnamed sources, reported in its Friday print edition that Motorola Solutions was scouting Atlanta for a headquarters that could include up to 800 jobs.

Motorola Solutions mainly serves government and corporate clients. It sold its wireless phone division to Google last year.
