Mortgage rates stay low

Average fixed mortgage rates hit record lows for a second consecutive week, according to Freddie Mac.

Thirty-year fixed mortgages averaged 3.83 percent as of May 10, down from 3.84 the week before. Also dropping were 15-year mortgage rates, which averaged 3.05 percent. A year ago at this time those rates averaged 3.82 percent.
