KPMG LLP, a global audit, tax and advisory firm, has named Milford McGuirt, a 29-year company veteran, as its managing partner of the firm’s Atlanta office.
McGuirt, who succeeds William Kimble, will oversee 1,400 partners and professionals in Atlanta and also oversee KPMG’s offices in Birmingham, Ala., Jackson, Miss., and Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville in Tenn.
Kimble announced his retirement from the firm in December.
“Milford is one of the most respected business executives in the Atlanta marketplace and a leader in the community,” Global Chairman John Veihmeyer said in a statement. “He brings tremendous national and local experience serving major clients across a broad range of industries and sectors, and his perspective will help further energize and grow our business in Atlanta and the surrounding region.”
McGuirt has been lead partner on audits for the City of Atlanta, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and the Georgia Tech Foundation. His higher education clients also include Morehouse and Spelman colleges, and Duke, Emory, Johns Hopkins, Mercer and Wake Forest universities.
