Road building is cranking up around the state. Highway and heavy construction contractor C.W. Matthews is slated to hire about 200 workers through a recruitment drive later this month, according to a Georgia Department of Labor press release.

Workers at least 18 years old are being recruited for projects in Cartersville, Cumming, Dawsonville, Gainesville, Griffin, Macon, Marietta, Norcross, Rome and Stockbridge, according to the state.

Positions are available for carpenters, drivers with a commercial driver’s license, concrete finishers, superintendents, traffic-control coordinators, distributors, equipment operators, foremen and pipe layers.

A recruitment drive is scheduled for Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at C.W. Matthews’ headquarters at 1600 Kenview Drive in Marietta.
