Googie Burger, the new walk-up restaurant that opened this past July at Centennial Olympic Park, is proving a financial success so far for the Georgia World Congress Center. On Tuesday, officials with the restaurant told the GWCC Authority, which oversees its operations, that the restaurant had nearly $42,000 in sales in July and about $50,000 in August. Those numbers represented a 51 percent increase and a 142 percent increase, respectively, over the same period a year ago when the park operated the now shuttered FountainSide Cafe.
