Topgolf International is going to break ground on a golf driving range in Midtown Atlanta Tuesday.

The combination three-levels of hitting bays will be part of a 65,000-square-foot facility that will include high-tech golf training and food and beverages on an old industrial site at 1600 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd. NW. It should open in spring of 2015.

It will be Topgolf’s second metro Atlanta location. The first opened in Alpharetta earlier this year.

Mayor Kasim Reed said the new sports attraction will create about 100 full-time jobs and will support efforts to redevelop the area. Reed has been keen on in-town redevelopment, and has had a hand in several redevelopment projects such as the proposed sale and redevelopment of the Civic Center and Underground Atlanta.
