Glitch causes Delta to offer super low fares

Cinncinati to Minneapolis for $25? Roundtrip from Tallahassee to Los Angeles for $27 each way?

Delta Airlines made the holidays merrier for some lucky customers who discovered such incredibly low domestic fares on the company’s website Wednesday, according to media reports.

A glitch caused Delta to offer the extremely low fares, according to Airfarewatchdog.com, which tracks airline pricing.

On Thursday, Delta acknowledged the glitch and said it would honor the low fares.

“For a portion of the morning today, some prices on delta.com and other booking channels were incorrectly displayed, resulting in lower than usual fares for customers,” Trebor Banstetter said in a statement.

Banstetter told the Associated Press the problem has been fixed and “Delta will honor any fares purchased at the incorrect price.”
