The board of a civilian agency steering redevelopment at Fort McPherson has called a meeting to be held Tuesday, just days after The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported filmmaker Tyler Perry could exit a deal to buy much of the former Army post.

The McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority board will meet at 1 p.m., according to a public notice on the agency’s website. An agenda has not been posted, but the board is expected to discuss the state of a deal to sell the bulk of the post to Perry, a person with knowledge of the situation told the AJC.

On Thursday, the AJC first reported Perry was expected to pull out of a deal to buy land and convert it into a film studio.

City and authority officials have declined to comment and proxies for both sides have only spoken on condition of anonymity.

On Friday, the sides disagreed on whether talks were even continuing. One person in the city camp said civilian authorities hadn't received formal notice promised from Perry that he was in fact out of the deal, and that talks were ongoing.
