Foreclosure notices filed this month dipped slightly from March, continuing the long, slow trend of improvement that started at the worst of the housing crisis, according to a report provided to the Journal-Constitution by Equity Depot.

There were 2,277 filings in the 13 core counties of metro Atlanta during April, said Barry Bramlett, president and CEO of the Kennesaw-based company.

This month’s numbers are “very consistent with prior months,” Bramlett said.

The highest number of foreclosures came in DeKalb County, followed by Gwinnett, Fulton, Cobb and Clayton counties.

For the year so far, DeKalb and Fulton have the most foreclosure filings: Each has 1,505. During the same four months of 2014, DeKalb had 1,649 foreclosure filings and Fulton had 1,638.

Last year, Fulton led the region in foreclosure filings with 4,847.
