Atlanta-based Flip Flop Shops said it is expanding to the Middle East with a major franchise agreement with Al Mana Fashion Group.
Al Mana will develop 50 Flip Flop Shops in Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. The stores will begin opening this year but the complete roll-out will take place over the next decade.
Financial terms of the franchise agreement were not disclosed.
Flip Flop Shops said it has more than 100 new stores in development worldwide. The company operates more than 100 existing stores through franchise agreements, which it began in 2008.
Flip Flops Shops stores carry a variety of flip flops styles and casual footwear. The bulk of its stores in the U.S. are in Florida, Texas and California. There is only one Flip Flop Shops in Georgia, in Savannah, but two additional stores are planned for Atlanta and Buford.
