GE Distributed Power is shifting its field service work in the Americas to a Florida-based GE affiliate.

The GE business unit, which is headquartered in Cincinnati, will be moving the work to Granite Services in Jupiter, which is wholly owned by General Electric, according to Atlanta-based GE spokeswoman Sophia Marshall.

Distributed Power has its three largest offices in Waukesha, Wisconsin, Houston, Texas and Jenbach, Austria.

The Distributed Power unit, a part of the GE Power & Water division, has 51 employees in metro Atlanta. Only one of those Atlanta-area employees is affected by the shift of work to Granite Services, according to Marshall. “And he will have the opportunity to apply for a job” with Granite.

General Electric, which is based in Connecticut, has about 300,000 employees, including about 5,586 in Georgia. Last year, the company had annual revenues of about $146 billion and profits of $24.5 billion.
