Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines canceled a total of 730 flights across its system Monday due to the Northeast storm, and canceled another 960 flights for Tuesday.
All flights are canceled at Boston Logan International for Tuesday, and there will be “very limited flying” at New York’s LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy International airports, according to Delta.
Delta also said it may need to cancel more flights at some Northeast airports Wednesday morning.
Southwest Airlines, the second-largest carrier in Atlanta, canceled a total of 130 flights nationwide on Monday, including about 11 departures in Atlanta. Dallas-based Southwest also plans to cancel 300 flights for Tuesday across its system and nearly 50 for Wednesday.
Those whose flights are canceled are entitled to a refund, and Delta and Southwest are waiving certain fees or charges for travelers who are scheduled to fly to, from or through the Northeast during the storm and want to reschedule their flights.
