Hunting, fishing and outdoor gear retailer Cabela’s said it will open its second Georgia store, in Acworth, on Aug. 21.

The Nebraska-based chain, which competes with Bass Pro Shops, said the 100,000-square-foot store will be in the Cherokee Village shopping center at Interstate 75 and Highway 92.

Spokesman Joe Arterburn said the store will employ 200 full-time and part-time workers.

"All positions are filled at this time," Arterburn told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "However, we encourage anyone interested in working with Cabela's to monitor www.cabelas.jobs as all open positions will be posted online as they become available."

Bass Pro Shops had a head start in opening stores in Georgia. Bass Pro has one location in metro Atlanta, in Lawrenceville, and stores in Savannah and Macon. Another Bass Pro location is planned for Emerson at the LakePoint Sporting Community & Town Center near near Lake Allatoona.

Cabella’s recently opened a 42,000-square-foot Augusta store, and it plans to open a 70,000-square-foot store in Fort Oglethorpe in Catoosa County in northwest Georgia, just outside Chattanooga, in late 2015. The Catoosa store will employ 140 full-time and part-time workers.

Cabella said its Acworth store features its next-generation layout, “designed to surround customers in an outdoor-like experience with museum-quality wildlife displays.” The store will include a large mountain replica, a gun library, bargain cave, boat shop, indoor archery range, deli and fudge shop.

Doors at the Acworth store will open at 11 a.m. following a grand opening ceremony at 10:45 a.m.
