Birmingham firm to build $45 million senior community in Stockbridge

A Birmingham developer of senior living communities is building a $45 million complex in Stockbridge.

Omega Communities will begin building later this year an upscale continuing care community called Lake Vista at Eagle’s Landing. The facility will be on 10 acres at the corner of Hwy 42 North and Brannan Road, next door to Eagle’s Landing Baptist Church. The land will be purchased from the church for an undisclosed sum. The sale is contingent on rezoning. Omega is currently seeking to have the land rezoned.

Lake Vista will feature 150 units for independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It also will include appointed suites, a courtyard, pool, library, beauty salon, exercise room, banquet hall, exploration room, nature trail, and a three-acre lake formed from a natural spring. The project should be finished within 14 months after construction begins this fall, according to Omega’s Chief Operating Officer Jimmy Taylor.
