A new restaurant called Bad Dog Taqueria is scheduled to open this spring in Emory Village, in the space formerly occupied by Sprouts Green Cafe.

The restaurant, at 1579 North Decatur Road, will have about 1,700 square feet of space and a bar made from a tree salvaged from the tornadoes that blew through Cabbagetown three years ago. The executive chef is Lis Hernandez, who has worked at Osteria 832 and Stella, which was converted to a Doc Chey's last year.

The regular menu will have about ten tacos for $2.99 each. They include plantain-encrusted fried chicken, Korean barbecue pork belly, plantain-encrusted tilapia, and a crispy chick-pea variety.
