The Atlanta City Council approved a $3.2 million grant on Tuesday to financial technology giant NCR to aid in the move of its headquarters from Duluth to Midtown.

NCR has said it plans to shift 3,600 jobs to the new campus near Georgia Tech’s campus. Additional incentives are possible, and the grant could be just a small part of a local incentives package. Last week, the city’s economic development agency said it was still working to “solidify” the city’s offer to support the relocation.

Invest Atlanta, the city’s economic development arm, could potentially offer property tax breaks through a complicated bond and lease-purchase arrangement.

NCR has said it also plans to develop a significant suburban campus.
