Atlanta-based GPS Hospitality Acquisition Co., a company formed two years ago by a former Arby’s Restaurant Group top executive, said it has acquired 15 Burger King restaurants in West Virginia and Ohio.

Financial terms of the deal with Vienna, W.Va.-based Charton Management Inc. were not disclosed.

Tom Garrett, former president and chief executive officer of Arby’s, formed GPS in October 2012 with the acquisition of 42 Burger Kings throughout metro Atlanta. The deal with Charton expands GPS’ portfolio of restaurants by 36 percent.

Garrett said GPS has plans for aggressive growth with a goal of having 200 restaurants by 2018.

“This is the first step to achieving that goal,” he said. GPS remodeled 10 Burger Kings in metro Atlanta last year and plans to remodel 14 this year.

Garrett was CEO of Arby’s from September 2008 until February 2010 and president from June 2006 until January 2010. He also served as chief operating officer and executive vice president of Arby’s parent company, Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, which was formerly Triarc Cos.
