Atlanta-based airport parking company Park ‘N Fly says it has been investigating reports of online fraud and has worked to fix issues after seeing an increase in the number of reports from customers about unknown charges on their credit cards.
The company operates the Park ‘N Fly, Park ‘N Go and Park ‘N Fly Plus off-airport parking lots near Hartsfield-Jackson, as well as other airport parking lots across the country. Chief financial officer Michael Deaderick said after seeing a “slight increase” in fraud reports, the company made changes recommended by a security firm it hired, FishNet Security.
“They did say that they found a Trojan of some sort that may be in there. We went in and fixed that, but there was no specific evidence of anything ever being taken through that Trojan,” Deaderick said. He said the increase in fraud reports totalled fewer than 100 incidents, making up about 1/10 of 1 percent of total transactions. “Unfortunately it seems like this is part of doing business now in e-commerce…. We are doing everything we can to make sure our systems have the highest level of security and protection available.”
