Cirque Du Soleil Kurios Cabinet of Curiosities has been attracting crowds since its Atlanta opening in March. Kurios is the 35th production from Cirque du Soleil and on April 24, the show celebrated its two-year anniversary.
Set in the last half of the 19th century, Kurios is an ode to the science, discoveries and inventions that led to the industrial revolution. Audiences journey through the mind of a seeker who believes in the existence of an invisible world where crazy ideas and big dreams await.
Visually, the production plays heavily on the Victorian/Edwardian era steampunk trend, a look that began appearing on high fashion runways as early as 2010.
Lookbook Atlanta, the luxury city guide for insiders, was given the opportunity to use Kurios as the inspiration for a fashion shoot which featured an array of designs from Etro, Erdem, Carolina Herrera, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Bottega Veneta and more.
Steampunk's appeal lies in its balance of both past and future, said Jabe Mabrey, who served as Fashion Director and stylist for the shoot.
"It is kind of nostalgia. There is a lot of the past -- the turn of the century -- but Mad Max futuristic as well," he said. "I’m drawn to it because I love the neo-Victorian, 1890s look all over again."
The following fashion editorial -- created by a team of locals -- blends culture and fashion in the city and hopefully entices Lookbook readers to seek out more.
As the city expands, it becomes harder to understand what is going on, how it all fits together and to find your place in it, said Lookbook creator and editor, Tova Gelfond. "The goal is to allow people to say, 'I can't believe this is happening in my community,'" she said.

"Victorian Times": Victorian fashion nods have been seen all over the runways this season in the form of small, stacked buttons, lace details, high necklines and corsets.

"Floral Suits You": This season flowers are everywhere, from home decor to nail art. But the most fashionable way to hop on this trend is with a floral emblazoned blazer.
"Ruffles and More Ruffles": Spring and summer are the queens of ruffles. From light and airy chiffon to thick and structured Taffeta, ruffles are playful and lovely for all occasions day or night.
"The Mauve Maxi": This summer is wild with nude pinks and purples. They are blushing, romantic and effortlessly on trend. On a Maxi Dress, it's both feminine and a tad flirty - even if you're all covered up.
"Showing Leg": From high-low asymmetrical dresses to sheer maxis and high-slits, showing your legs for summer is the way to go, even at the most buttoned-up engagements.
"White Lace": White hot summer in Atlanta will be the perfect time to don a white-hot mini dress. Lace details will keep it classy and on-trend - perfect for a daytime party.
"Blue Crush": Why so blue this summer? Because whether it's robin's egg or pure powder, true blues are the bold way to catch attention.
