Each year, twice a year, Beehive Atlanta hosts the biggest sale of handmade items from local designers. The weeklong sale always offers a range of items from jewelry to locally made foods priced from 40 to 90 percent off retail.

This year, the big event kicks off with a special early opening at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 20 and runs through Sunday, August 28. Regular business hours of 11 a.m - 7 p.m. (Mon.  - Sat.) and 12 - 5 p.m. (Sunday) will apply for the remainder of the sale.

Shoppers who can't wait until Saturday can also enjoy a pre-event blitz sale online with select items priced at 50 percent off . Pick up your items in-store or have them shipped.

The warehouse sale is a popular event -- so plan to arrive early -- and you'll be rewarded with special treats including artisanal teas from  Just Add Honey  and sweets from  Revolution Donuts  while supplies last.

This year, the sale will highlight hundreds of craft supplies, including fabric, jewelry findings, and sewing notions for $1 for DIY types.

Expect to find goods from more than 50 of Atlanta's top handmade designers and purchase items that are made in the USA while also supporting the local makers community.

The main products available include handmade jewelry, apparel for men, women, children and babies, stationery and wall hangings, toys for babies and children, accessories for adults, bath & body goods, housewares, and locally made food goods.

Many of the designers also work the sale, giving shoppers the chance to meet and talk to their favorite makers.
