This was definitely Drake’s year. He was incredibly dominant on Atlanta urban radio this year and had several hits on pop as well.

On both V-103 and Hot, Drake was by the most popular artist by a wide margin, beating out Migos, Cardi B and Ella Mai.

Hot played 39 titles this year from Drake more than 7,000 times or about once every 75 minutes. 96.7/The Beat one-upped Hot by playing him more than 9,000 times or once an hour on average.

Over the year, V-103 spun a whopping 51 different Drake songs (and that didn’t even include songs where he was merely “featured”). The Beat? 53 different Drake tunes.

On country, Georgians Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean dominated. On Christian pop, it was Chris Tomlin and locals Casting Crowns. The top artist on alternative rock’s Alt 105.7 was Imagine Dragons, same as Star 94.1. Maroon 5 also had a stellar year on pop radio in Atlanta.
