Top artists heard on Atlanta radio: Drake, Cardi B, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5

Originally filed Thursday, December 27, 2018 by RODNEY HO/rho@ajc.com on his AJC Radio & TV Talk blog

This was definitely Drake’s year. He was incredibly dominant on Atlanta urban radio this year and had several hits on pop as well.

On both V-103 and Hot, Drake was by the most popular artist by a wide margin, beating out Migos, Cardi B and Ella Mai.

Hot played 39 titles this year from Drake more than 7,000 times or about once every 75 minutes. 96.7/The Beat one-upped Hot by playing him more than 9,000 times or once an hour on average.

Over the year, V-103 spun a whopping 51 different Drake songs (and that didn’t even include songs where he was merely “featured”). The Beat? 53 different Drake tunes.
