Starting Monday, 92.9/The Game is replacing Kordell Stewart with Marc James, who comes from a CBS Sports talk station in Charlotte, WFNZ-FM, the station announced Thursday morning.

He joins Carl Dukes for the 2 to 6 p.m. drivetime show.

Clearly, this has been in the works for awhile since Stewart, a former Pittsburgh Steeler and "Real Housewives of Atlanta" reality figture, just left last week. (Stewart did not state his future plans on air but he did get to say goodbye last Thursday.)

According to a press release that came out this morning, "prior to WFNZ, James hosted multiple national, regional and local shows, including Sports Edge on Sirius/XM, afternoon drive on ESPN 1040 in Tampa, Mouthin’ Off Morning show host on ESPN 1400 in Miami, and more."

replacement is

Mark Zinno

, who comes from another CBS sports talk station in Baltimore 105.7 The Fan (WJZ-FM).

He had been at the Fan for eight years.

The press release described him as such: "As a man with many skills, Zinno has been a tenured play-by-play host for eight years with the University of Maryland (2004–12) and two seasons with Maryland Baseball (2012–14). He also serves as a Major in the Maryland Army National Guard with three separate years of deployment in Iraq and was awarded two Bronze Star medals." (Read more here.)

Both Stewart and Goff were original members of the Game when it debuted in October, 2012.

The strategy at the Game appears to be focused on importing sports talk hosts from outside Atlanta. Terry Foxx, the program director, picked two talents from sister CBS properties.

The 2 Live Stews - an obvious local choice with big name value who have been out of work since September, 2012 - were excluded again. There are also now several 790/The Zone personalities including Mike Bell, Dave Archer and John Michaels available though that may depend on non-compete clauses since the Zone blew out its local talent last week.

92.9/The Game has changed more than half its weekday lineup since 2012. With a much stronger signal, the station easily overtook 790/The Zone soon after it launched but has struggled to make a dent against 680/The Fan (simulcast on 93.7 FM), which remains the dominant sports talk station.
