I recently drove down to Peachtree City for perhaps my final visit to the set of Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva," which concludes its sixth and final season this year. 1980s icon Rick Springfield takes on a guest role as a rock star with legal issues.

He had to take two trips because his first visit was interrupted by the big snow storm last month.

We talked briefly after he did an emotional scene set in a hospital. Springfield has a new novel "Magnificent Vibration" coming out in May. He also will be back in Atlanta this summer at Chastain with Pat Benatar. (Surprisingly, the two MTV-era rockers have never been paired together before.)

The show returns March 23.  The Springfield episode details are here:

Premieres Sunday, March 30 at 9:00PM-10:00PM (ET)

Stacy helps Jane prepare for her date with Grayson. Jane and Belinda represent rock star Liam Matthews (Rick Springfield) whose recent irresponsible behavior has put his band's next big tour at risk. Grayson represents a woman being evicted from her long time low income housing when her landlord threatens to tear down her building and replace it with upscale condos. The case takes an interesting turn when they discover a famous graffiti artist's work on the side of the old apartment building.
