'Real Housewives of Atlanta' reunion preview

By RODNEY HO/, originally filed Thursday, March 10, 2016

Often times, the best fireworks in a "Real Housewives" season come during the reunion once everyone watches what folks have to say about what happened as it aired.

Among the revelations in the 90-second teaser released today:

  • NeNe Leakes does not think Kim Fields is a fit to be a cast member.
  • Kenya Moore thinks Phaedra Parks is insulting her looks.
  • Kandi Burruss gets angry with Kim Fields for "attacking" her husband Todd Tucker (presumably verbally)
  • NeNe lectures Porsha Williams about physical violence.
  • Kim's husband Chris Morgan questions Kenya about spreading rumors that he's gay and nicknamed "Chrissy."
  • Kenya goes after Porsha with a reference to a man's member.
  • Porsha accuses Cynthia Bailey's husband Peter Thomas of being a flirt and a cheat.
  • Todd thinks Phaedra plays "the victim."
  • And Kim and Kenya get into verbal fisticuffs.

Nothing physical apparently happened, else Bravo would have teased it.

The three-part reunion shows will start airing March 27.

This Sunday will be the season finale, the season's 17th episode. This will be the shortest season for "Real Housewives" since 2010, when Bravo aired 16 episodes before the reunion shows.

The previous two seasons, Bravo aired 22 episodes before the three-part reunion. Seasons four and five featured 20 episodes before the reunions.

Overnight ratings appear to be down from season 7 but I am not sure how big a drop it's been if you include DVR usage.

Here's how Bravo describes each episode:

The three-part reunion kicks off on Sunday, March 20 at 8pm ET/PT. Tensions rise between Kenya and Phaedra when Kenya accuses her of being the ultimate shade thrower. Kandi and Phaedra address their deteriorating relationship but with new grievances in the mix, will these two ever be able to put the past behind them and move forward? Shereè joins the ladies to discuss her experience returning to the show and Kenya and Kim go head-to-head when they confront their rocky relationship.

In Reunion Part Two, airing on Sunday, March 27 at 8pm ET/PT, the ladies rehash the drama of Jamaica from the ups and downs surrounding the execution of Cynthia’s commercial to her downplaying her relationship with Kenya to the group. In a special appearance, NeNe Leakes gathers with the women to weigh in on the drama and to address the group’s concerns surrounding Porsha’s anger management issues.  Shereè and NeNe reflect on their shaky past and where their friendship stands today.  The men join the conversation to give their opinions on the plethora of hot-button issues including unsettling allegations surrounding Kim’s husband, Chris.

During Reunion Part Three, airing on Sunday, April 3 at 8pm ET/PT, Phaedra reflects on the emotional season she’s undergone with her husband Apollo away at prison and the effects it’s had on her life. Cynthia and Peter disclose the current state of their marriage and address upsetting rumors about their relationship, which leads to a tense verbal encounter between Cynthia and Porsha. The women revisit the drama surrounding the Miami trip and make an attempt to move forward after a tumultuous season.
