Alexis Scott, the veteran journalist who is seen weekly on Fox 5's "The Georgia Gang" panel, last week announced her engagement to Brian McKissick, a storyboard artist.

They connected when McKissick was helping out someone who wrote a screenplay based on Scott’s father’s experience in World War II as a black man who liberated the Buchenwald concentration camp. McKissick met her in 2011 during the crazy Atlanta snowpocalypse. “She was a captive audience,” he said. “I showed her a sizzle reel.”

But you know what really began to sizzle? Their romantic chemistry. “She became my galaxy,” said McKissick. “I became the star. I realized the magic and electricity between us.”

Scott, 69, has two sons from two previous marriages. “Number three is my lucky charm,” she said. “Although I have been divorced for 20 years, I never closed up shop. I was optimistic someone was out there for me.”

McKissick, 59, has been divorced for more than 30 years and has no kids. He has been in Atlanta for six years and has worked on Atlanta-based projects such as "Ozark," "Uncle Drew" and "MacGyver." (Check out his imdb.com page.)

He said his proposal was unplanned and not as romantic as he would have liked. But Scott was fine with that. “I think Alexis already knew what she wanted,” he said. “She was waiting for me. When will this guy wake up and get his head together?”

Both of them are movie buffs. He sees them as being real-life versions of Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy characters. "We know each other's beats so well," he said. "We fight and we love and we love to fight. We're competitive in many ways but we complement each other. We don't shut each other down."

Tony Kidd has left Cox Media Group as vice president of programming for the Atlanta radio stations after 25 years.

He oversaw programming at Kiss 104.1, which has faced ratings challenges since it dropped Tom Joyner as morning host earlier this year. He also handled other urban stations for Cox.

Kiss and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution are both part of Cox Media Group.

Last Thursday, alternative rock station Alt 105.7 raised money for victims of Hurricane Michael by opening its playlist to listeners willing to contribute money for requests from any format, any era.

In fact, someone contributed enough money to turn Alt 105.7 into the Rock 105.7 in a sense. The station played Dwayne Johnson's "You're Welcome" from the "Moana" soundtrack eight times in seven hours.

The station also plays rock band Mona’s “Some Kind of Rage” eight times in eight hours, a song not on Alt’s playlist that has only gotten minor airplay nationwide.

You also might have also heard other songs never spun before on Alt 105.7 including Caroline Rose's "Jeannie Becomes a Mom," Duran Duran's "Rio," Men at Work's "Who Can It Be Now," Sisquo's 'Thong Song," Barry Manilow's "Copacabana," Neil Diamond's 'Sweet Caroline," Run DMC's "Can You Rock It Like This," Gary Clark's "When the Train Pulls In" and Cee Lo Green's "Forget You."

Program Director Aly Young's favorite two: " 'Baby Shark' which is a children's song that's catchy and annoying. Another guy paid to Rick-roll Atlanta with Rick Astley's 'Never Gonna Give You Up.'"

Atlanta-based Turner has shut down its edgy Super Deluxe entertainment division, which it acquired in 2006. It was rolled into Adult Swim in 2008, then returned as an independent network in 2015.

Super Deluxe helped start the careers of some of today's best comedians, including Maria Bamford and Tim Heideckeraccording to the Verge.

"Turner is proud of the unique brand Super Deluxe has built over the past three years, and the cutting-edge content and innovations this incredible group of very talented people has made," Turner said in a statement. "However, there are now massive changes in the social and mobile-first ecosystem and duplication with other business units in our new WarnerMedia portfolio. Super Deluxe found inspiring ways of connecting with a new generation and many of their best practices will be adopted by other Turner properties as we redirect this investment back into our portfolio."
