Pee-Wee Herman fans are dancing to "Tequila" with the news Paul Reubens will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the 1985 film "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" on a 20-city tour including an Atlanta stop at the Tabernacle March  12.

Each event will feature a screening of the classic movie and then an appearance by Reubens, who will discuss the film and the child-like character he created.

The movie focuses around Pee-Wee’s effort to retrieve his beloved red bicycle. Critics gave it an 87 percent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes while 79 percent of 113,258 viewers on the site liked it.

After many years away from the character, Reubens created the "Pee-Wee's Big Holiday" film in 2016 for Netflix. The original can be streamed on Vudu and Amazon Prime for either rental or purchase.

Reubens, now 67, also had a children’s show from 1986 to 1991 called “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse” as well as a less heralded sequel to “Big Adventure” in 1988 called “Big Top Pee-Wee.”

For years, he would make all his public appearances in character.

The tour starts February 14 in Portland, OR and ends in D.C. on March 29.

Tickets go on sale Friday, December 13 at 10 a.m. As usual, neither Ticketmaster nor the Tabernacle website have prices up yet, an infuriatingly annoying practice of non-disclosure.

Fortunately, the Portland date at Newmark Theatre provides us a guide of sorts: ticket prices there range from $49.50 to $65 with more expensive VIP packages available as well.
