NeNe Leakes, for all her fame and fortune, has a pretty thin skin. We've learned that on "Real Housewives of Atlanta." She has a hard time forgiving and is easily affronted. She can dish it. She can't take it.
This happened yet again on "The View" Tuesday.
She left the six-minute interview with a sour view of the cast, Tweeting (before deleting): "Just sat down with a bunch of mean girls turning up their noses, looking u up & down as if u don't belong."
The segment opened pretty innocuously. Candace Cameron Bure, who had competed with Leakes on "Dancing With the Stars," asked her how her second marriage with Gregg is going and Leakes said it certainly is better the second time around. "I had to teach him a lesson," he said.
Then it quickly becomes tense when Joy Behar asked for an example. "Never cross me the wrong way," Leakes said with a slight twinge of annoyance.
Explaining why she left "Real Housewives," she said season seven "was really hard. I felt really ganged up on,," she said. "It's not fair for everyone coming at you at once."
She didn't close the door on returning full time again down the road after making a cameo that will appear later this season. "Maybe, maybe not. The Housewives have been very good to me. The platform has been amazing and it has opened many doors for me. As you can see, a lot of girls would like to imitate the NeNe Leakes brand, okay?"
"Very modest isn't she?" Behar said snarkily. "No wonder she loves Donald Trump!"
Leakes said she liked Trump but doesn't mean she'd vote for him.
When they showed pictures of Leakes' home, she only showed photos from right after she moved in. Behar wondered why she wouldn't show pictures with furniture. Leakes cited security, which confused Behar.
She said not doing Housewives allowed her to "be me" again. She is in "Chicago" on Broadway, her second trip there after "Cinderella" last year. "I love Broadway but the schedule is tough," she said.
Leakes was asked to sing and she does so for a few seconds. And that's when the segment mercifully ended.
