Sundance Head, who almost landed in the top 12 season six on "American Idol," made the top 12 nine years later on "The Voice" this week after the first live performance show on Monday.

His soulful sound on Keith Urban's "Blue Ain't Your Color" was very different from the original. He was able to nab one of the three slots on Team Blake, courtesy of the fans in live voting. He has clearly matured since his "Idol" days. And he's been building a fan base. He came in fourth on the MJ's Big Blog among fans.

He has a realistic path to the finals.
