Katt Williams returns to Philips Arena March 16

Katt Williams, the controversial stand-up comic, is coming back to headline Philips Arena two years after he had to reschedule a Philips show due to a dangerous staph infection that began with a spider bite.

Williams will be performing Friday, March 16 with tickets going on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Ticket prices range from $52 to $125 before fees.

He lived in Gainesville for a time but was banned in late 2016 from two counties (Hall and Dawson) after getting arrested repeatedly in that area.

In fact, he was arrested four times in 2016 alone.

Williams managed to get through 2017 without incident and played a hitchhiker in the comedy film "Father Figures," which came out December 22 and stars Owen Wilson and 1992 Westminster grad Ed Helms.

Only a handful of other stand-up comics have done solo shows at Philips in recent years, including Amy Schumer, Kevin Hart and most recently Jim Gaffigan .
