Channel 2 Action News investigative reporter Erica Byfield is leaving the station, she announced today during the 6 p.m. newscast.

Byfield joined WSB-TV in 2010.

She's moving to New York to get married and work as a reporter at WNBC-TV.

"We have loved having Erica at Channel 2 Action News and wish her and her future husband great happiness and success. WNBC got a good one," said Misti Turnbull, news director.

"I am really going to miss Erica," said Dave Huddleston, a reporter/anchor at WSB-TV. "She was one of the best reporters we have, and when she became an investigative reporter she really took off! The investigative pieces stories she did in DeKalb county and the city of Atlanta really showed her skill and tenacity for digging for the truth."

Byfield, a California native, graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005. She worked in St. Louis before coming to Atlanta.

Channel 2 Action News and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution are both part of Cox Media Group.
