For some reason, I thought "Celebrity Apprentice" debuted on March 21, a week later than it actually did. I had seen the episode a month early and had interviewed Bill Goldberg, former Dawg, Falcon and pro wrestler, a couple weeks ago.If you've already seen the first episode (and even if you haven't), Goldberg does survive week one. A low-wattage stand-up comic Carol Leifer didn't get along with the other ladies and was fired.
During that debut episode, Goldberg didn't get much airtime. The focus fell on his team captain and surprisingly strategic rocker Bret Michaels; disgraced, truly lame former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich; and endearingly sweet (but not terribly competitive) singer Cyndi Lauper. But I'm sure Goldbergl be making an impact soon enough.
Based on the first episode, who is going to make it to the finals? (Pick up to two)
- Too early to tell
- Curtis Stone
- Cyndi Lauper
- Sharon Osbourne
- Darryl Strawberry
- Sinbad
- Bret Michaels
- Summer Sanders
- Michael Johnson
- Selita Ebanks
- Rod Blagojevich
- Maria Kanellis
- Holly Robinson Peete
"He's very capable, a very tough guy," said Donald Trump last month during a press conference. "And not just tough physically but in a lot of other ways. He's not easy to get along with."
“He’s a menacing guy to be around,” said Michaels. “He’s an extremely intense guy. He’s a fighter. When he goes after something, he goes after it. If you’re in his way, you’ll get run down. But if went head to head, I knew I could outrun him. Maybe not beat him in a fight but I could outrun him!”
Goldberg wouldn’t spill details but said, “First and foremost, I never imagined I’d ever be more emasculated than when I was wearing underwear in a wrestling ring. It’s possible. No. 2., I really had a good time. Did I hold up well under pressure 100 percent of the time? No.”
Goldberg said he joined the cast because his wife wanted him to and he thought it would be great for the charity he picked, Sons of the Fallen, which provides a camp for those whose dads died in combat, through the Specchio Family Foundation.
He said it was a bit tough to be in front of cameras 14 hours a day despite living in front of the cameras for years. “As a Georgia Bulldog, I learned the term, ‘This ain’t my first goat roping!’ ” he said. “But being a reality show contestant is different from hosting one.” (He hosts the automobile racing show “Bull Run” on the Speed Channel and has begun taping episodes of the new DIY show “Garage Mahal,” also as a host.)

His favorite celebrity was Lauper, the ’80s singer best known for her hits “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Time After Time.” Nearly 60 years old, she looks amazing. “She was cool,” he said. “She’s down to earth and crazy if not more so in person. I’m a big fan.”
